CLEAR ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

OwnVisaJobs is a free global marketplace for job seekers and employers, with clear vacancy sources and country-specific work-authorisation information.

Is OwnVisaJobs free?

Yes. OwnVisaJobs is free for job seekers and employers. Candidates can search, save jobs, create alerts and apply without a platform fee. Employers can create an account and post standard vacancies without a posting fee.

Who is OwnVisaJobs for?

The marketplace helps people who hold or plan to hold independent residence sponsorship and are looking for full-time, part-time, temporary or contract work. Employers can post roles in any country, subject to local law.

Does a residence visa or NOC automatically allow someone to work?

No. Residence status, sponsorship or an NOC does not by itself prove permission to perform a particular job. The employer and candidate must confirm the permit, registration, transfer and employment rules in the country where the work will happen.

How do candidates apply?

Direct employer vacancies accept applications through OwnVisaJobs after the candidate verifies their email and completes a private profile with a PDF CV. Official sourced vacancies link to the employer’s own careers website.

What do the listing labels mean?

Direct employer reviewed means the employer submitted the vacancy and OwnVisaJobs reviewed the available account and listing details. Official employer listing means the vacancy was found on the named employer’s official careers source. Neither label guarantees a hiring outcome.

Are CVs public?

No. Profile CVs are private. When a candidate applies, an application-specific copy is shared only with the approved employer responsible for that vacancy and authorised administrators.

Can an employer or recruiter charge a candidate?

No. Candidates must never pay to apply, interview or receive an offer through OwnVisaJobs. Suspicious requests for recruitment, permit, equipment, training, deposit or refundable fees should be reported immediately.

How are stale or suspicious jobs handled?

Vacancies have closing dates, external sources are checked regularly, and users can report misleading, expired, discriminatory, fake or fee-requesting listings. Reports involving money, fake employers or unsafe identity-document requests are marked urgent.
