Privacy notice

Effective 25 October 2026. OwnVisaJobs is administered from India and may serve candidates and employers in multiple countries. Formal legal-operator details will be added when confirmed. Privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].

Information we use

We collect account details, candidate profile information, employer verification information, vacancy details, applications, reports, security logs and support messages needed to operate and protect the service. We do not ask candidates to publish passport, national identity, visa-number or full home-address data.

CV privacy

Profile CVs are stored privately. When a candidate applies, we create an application-specific copy available only to that candidate, the employer responsible for that vacancy and authorised OwnVisaJobs administrators. Employers cannot use an old application to obtain the candidate’s current profile CV. Downloads are logged.

Open-to-work profiles

Candidates can expressly opt in to an anonymised employer-search profile. Name, email, phone, CV and private authorisation notes are excluded. Turning off Open to Work removes the profile from employer search.

Why we use information

We use information to operate accounts, publish reviewed vacancies, deliver applications and opted-in alerts, verify employers, prevent abuse, investigate reports, communicate service messages and meet legal duties. An optional report email is used only to follow up on that report and is not shown publicly or shared with the reported employer.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to fund this free service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure and limit advertising, subject to applicable consent requirements. Advertising does not give employers access to private candidate information. You can manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center and learn how Google uses information from partner sites in Google’s partner-sites notice.

Retention and deletion

Application-specific CV files are deleted 180 days after a vacancy or application ends unless retention is needed for an active dispute or legal obligation. Application history may remain without the CV file. Profile CVs remain until replaced, deleted or the account is closed. Security, moderation and audit records may be retained where necessary to protect users and establish what occurred.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, disable Open to Work, delete job alerts and request access, correction, deletion, restriction or information about your data by emailing the support address. We verify identity before releasing or changing account data. Alert consent can be withdrawn by deleting the alert.

International processing

Hosting, email, backup and service suppliers may process information outside a user’s country. Applicable privacy obligations can depend on where the operator, user and supplier are located. We use reasonable contractual, access-control and security measures and will update this notice when processor details or legal requirements change.
